Terms & Conditions
Last updated June 17, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Voqu and govern your use of the Voqu apps, this website, and related services (together, "Voqu" or the "Service"). By creating an account or using Voqu, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Who can use Voqu
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Voqu. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you can form a binding agreement with us. If you use Voqu on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorized to accept these Terms for it.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. Tell us promptly if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
3. Community rules
Voqu connects you with real people for conversation practice. To keep it safe and welcoming, you agree not to:
- Harassing, threatening, bullying, or hateful behavior toward other members.
- Sexually explicit content, nudity, or any content involving minors.
- Spam, scams, advertising, or soliciting money from other members.
- Impersonating another person, or sharing false or misleading profile information.
- Sharing content that is illegal, infringes others' rights, or contains malware.
- Collecting or misusing other members' personal information.
- Attempting to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
You can mute, block, or report any member. We review reports and may remove content or take action on accounts that break these rules.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you create on Voqu — your profile, messages, photos, and the audio and video you share. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate and improve the Service, including delivering it to the members you talk to and providing features such as translation and learning tools. You're responsible for the content you share and confirm you have the right to share it.
5. Conversations and calls
Voqu lets you chat and hold voice and video calls with other members. You're responsible for how you interact with others and for what you choose to share. We don't control members' conduct and aren't responsible for it, but we may moderate content and act on reports to keep the community safe.
6. Plans, payments, and renewals
Voqu is free to start. Voqu Boost is an optional paid subscription (currently $8.99 per month) that unlocks features such as unlimited matches, voice and video calls, advanced topics, vocabulary insights, and an ad-free experience. Prices may vary by region and over time; any change to your subscription price will be communicated in advance.
- Subscriptions are billed through your app store account (Apple App Store or Google Play) under their terms, and they handle payment.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your app store account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; your Boost features remain until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled by the app store under its policies, except where a refund is required by law.
7. Advertising
Members on the free plan may see ads within the app. Voqu Boost subscribers don't see ads. Your choices around advertising and tracking are described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Our intellectual property
Voqu, including its software, design, logos, and content we provide, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law.
9. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Voqu and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms, create risk for other members or the Service, or where required by law. We may also discontinue features or the Service. When your account ends, sections of these Terms that should reasonably survive — such as content licenses, disclaimers, and liability limits — continue to apply.
10. Disclaimers
Voqu is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet a particular learning goal, and we make no warranties about the conduct of other members or the content they share. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Voqu and its team won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Voqu after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
